How to Reach: Guwahati onwards
Ride Highlights: Maa Kamakhya Temple, Kaziranga National Park, Majuli Island, Margherita Tea Estate, Naga Hills, Mokokchung, Kohima.
Day 1: Arrival at Guwahati
You should plan to arrive at Guwahati by Noon. We recommend a darshan (auspicious visit) of the Maa Kamakhya Temple. We will brief you on the ride. You will also familiarise with the bikes that would be your partner for next 1 week. (Demo-cum-Training on emergency on-road repairs & maintenance (Enfield).
Same day by evening, Guwahati to Kaziranga
Cruise along the NH 27, up to Kaziranga, Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
Distance covered : 200 kms (Approx 4hrs)
Day 2: Kaziranga to Majuli
Morning elephant safari shall start at 6:30 AM, later local market visit where you can find few of the finest wooden sculpture made by locals.
Kaziranga National Park, a world heritage site, is home to nearly two-thirds of the world's Great One-horned Rhinoceros. The park has the highest density of tigers among the protected areas in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. Though sighting of tigers are difficult because of the tall grasses that provide excellent camouflage, their presence can be felt everywhere by way of pug marks, kills and territorial markings. You will also see large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo and swamp deer.
Later in the afternoon will head towards Majuli (The biggest river island in the world)
Tucked in the mighty Brahmaputra, Majuli is the world's largest river island. Majuli is known the world over in academic circles for the Satras (monastery), which have preserved the Vaishnavite culture. With all of its 452 sq km, Majuli Island is hauntingly scenic and beautiful with a tapestry of green rice fields and purple meadows of hyacinth blossoms.
The island is home to nearly 100 species of birds and also people of neo-Vaishnavite philosophy. We advises you to get here as soon as possible. Surveys indicate that at current levels of erosion the island will cease to exist within the next two decades.
Cruise along with the highway NH715, upto Nimati Steamer Ghat & Take a private ferry to Majuli. overnight stay at Majuli.
Distance covered : 155 kms (Approx 4hrs)
Visit to a nearby sand beach in Brahmaputra, visiting the Satras, the birth place of Vaishnavite culture in Assam and the tribal villages.
Day 3 & Day 4: Majuli to Margherita
Day 3: After exploring Majuli will head towards Margherita Via NH2.
Distance to be travelled : 240km (7 hrs)
Overnight Stay at Margherita.
Day 4: Tour of Tea Estate, first hand experience of life style lead by Tea gardeners.

The town was named after Queen Margherita, the then reigning Queen Consort of Italy. Margherita is also known as the 'Coal Queen of Assam.
Day 5, Day 6, Day 7 & Day 8: Margherita to Kohima
Day 5: After breakfast, we will ride into Nagaland. The eight hour ride of 265 km to Mokochung will be over majestic high mountains of the Naga Hills, through deep gorges and lush green valleys. We will cross twisting streams and see the exotic flora of this beautiful land.
Mokokchung is an important cultural centre and is home to the Ao tribe, and is particularly noted for its unique tradition of celebrating Christmas and New Year in the main town square. You will love riding along the village roads that have been cleaned and decorated for Christmas.
Day 6, 7 & 8: Riders! For the next three days be prepared to be enthralled by an explosion of culture, dance, music, art, cuisine and so much more.
We ride to Kohima for the Hornbill festival. We aim to cover the 150 km in 5 hrs. We will stop for lunch enoute.You will learn during your time at the festival about this land of folklore passed down the generations through word of mouth.
The traditional ceremonial attire of each tribe is an awe inspiring sight to behold; the multi-coloured spears and dao (machetes) decorated with dyed goat's hair, the headgear made of finely woven bamboo interlaced with orchid stems, adorned with boar's teeth and hornbill's feathers, elephant tusk armlets.
There is a bewildering variety of food; smoked or grilled to perfection, pork, chicken, beef, fish, leafy vegetable stews and sauces and currries. For the adventurous, there are insects and worms as also dog meat! All of it served with delicious sticky rice. The odd place also serves north Indian dishes, albeit a very limited choice. Every night, there is an ongoing Rock Festival at the nearby IG Stadium. Top bands from Nagaland and the rest of India perform.
Day 9 : Kohima to Guwahati
